In early November 2024, we rolled into Camp Margaritaville Auburndale for a long weekend stay from Friday, November 1 through Monday, November 4.
Unlike our state park trips, this getaway had more of a resort feel—and our toddler was here for it. With pools, playgrounds, and endless activities, he was constantly on the move, while our newborn was perfectly content to nap in the shade and soak in the Florida breeze. Camp Margaritaville gave us the best of both worlds: relaxation for the parents and non-stop fun for the kids.
Our Campsite Setup
We booked a back-in RV site, which made arrival simple and stress-free. Each site was spacious with full hookups, a picnic table, and plenty of room for outdoor toys. The tropical landscaping gave the whole place a laid-back vibe right from the start.
As usual, we set up our RV with family in mind—dinette dropped for baby naps, chairs out for evening hangs, and toys scattered everywhere for our toddler. Having resort amenities just steps away made the whole setup feel even easier.
Family-Friendly Things to Do at Camp Margaritaville Auburndale
1. Splash in the Pools
The resort-style pool was a huge highlight. There’s a splash pad for kids, a water slide, and plenty of lounge chairs for parents. We spent most afternoons here, letting our toddler burn energy while we cooled off in the water.
2. Playgrounds & Sports
Multiple playgrounds, basketball courts, and even a putting green kept our little one entertained between swims. Having everything within walking distance meant no long treks back and forth with the baby.
3. Resort Activities
The campground had a full calendar of family activities: crafts, live music, and games by the pool. It felt like a built-in entertainment schedule for our toddler—he was always asking, “What’s next?”
Margaritaville Vibes for Parents
While the kids played, we got to enjoy the on-site tiki bar and live music in the evenings. It was such a fun change of pace compared to our usual camping nights.
Day Trips & Nearby Fun
Located in Auburndale, the resort is a short drive to Legoland, making it a great basecamp for families wanting to mix a little theme-park adventure with their RV trip.
RVing with Young Kids: What Helped Us
- Booking extra days so we didn’t feel rushed with the full activity schedule.
- Keeping afternoons pool-focused, since that’s where our toddler was happiest.
- Using the stroller for walking between activities—everything is close, but little legs get tired.
- Having shades and white noise in the RV so naps still worked despite the excitement.
Navigating with a Baby
Camp Margaritaville is stroller-friendly across the entire resort, with paved roads and wide pathways. The baby was able to nap poolside under an umbrella or in the stroller during walks. Items we found especially helpful here:
- Clip-on stroller fan (Florida sun is no joke, even in November)
- Sun hats and muslin blankets for shade
- Portable sound machine for naps during busy activity hours
- Swim diapers and baby float for the pool
